Durbuy is often described as the smallest city (or sometimes town) in the world. It was an important centre of commerce and industry and given city status in 1331 by John 1, Count of Luxembourg. It is situated in the Belgium province of Luxembourg. There is an attractive chateau perched above the River Ourthe, a fountain in the river and also a very unusual topiary park with a large number of imaginatively clipped bushes – the garden seems to have been much developed since the picture above. Another attractive place that looks worth visiting is Chaudfontaine, approximately 25 minutes from Spa, which has the only naturally hot water springs in Belgium. These were originally recognised in 1673 when local people first took the waters,
